Measure your boat
Have you ever looked at your bare shell of an ocean
rowing boat and wondered where the best place to put the seat is?
The AOR is championing a new "measure your
boat" scheme to help ocean rowers with a boat to set it up
in the most efficient way possible. We're asking all our members
to measure their boat through a set of easy to follow instructions.
These measurements can then be used by members intending to row
and ocean to check that their setup is reasonable and to avoid any
nasty shocks such as putting the boat in the water and realising
that the oars don't reach to the water or that the handles constantly
scrape your legs. (Don't laugh too hard, it has been done.)
The details of what exactly we need you to measure
will be up here soon, so grab your tape measure and standby for
some seriously comfortable ocean rowing.
